Hawk Haven Winery boosts an elegant tasting room, attentive staff and great wines at affordable prices. The tastings run $8 for 8 samples and for my sweet loving palate, the standouts are the Flying Press White, the semi-dry Riesling, and the Flying Press Rose whose sweet-tart notes make for the perfect summer sip-on-the-patio wine.
But the true magic happens the moment you step outside. Tents, music and games bestow a carnival-like atmosphere. The covered patio features high top tables with live music every weekend while a sangria bar beckons just a few feet away. The dog-friendly picnic area has umbrella covered tables with plenty of open space behind it for both your two-legged and four-legged kids to let off some steam. For those who just want to relax, check out the beach zone with its slingback chairs where you can kick off your flip-flops and sink your toes in the sand. Hawk Haven is more than just a winery, it’s a full afternoon of fun.
