Ah, summertime at Cedar Rose Vineyards - kicking back on the porch with a chilled bottle of Sandpiper wine while listening to the sweet melodies from an acoustic guitar. In addition to great wine, Cedar Rose offers multiple food options - you can bring your own food and picnic on the soft grass by the lush vineyards or you can indulge in an a la cart cheese board where you select the type and amount of meats, cheese, nuts, figs, fruits, etc. I really like this idea and can only hope that other wineries will embrace it as well. We chose cheddar cheese, sausage, capicola, and bruschetta with toast and weren't disappointed. The ingredients were fresh and the capicola had a very nice bite.
Cedar Rose's biggest strength, however, is its family and dog friendly atmosphere. There are multiple games situated along the lawn to keep the kiddies entertained and plenty of room for frolicking for both the two-legged and four-legged "babies" alike. With its bring your own food option and free live music, Cedar Rose offers an inexpensive but fun day out for the wine enthusiast.
