Hallowine & Comedy Event at DiBella Winery
Updated: Oct 28, 2022
Under a pink October sky costume-clad connoisseurs gathered in the grassy pastures of DiBella Winery for a night of wine-tasting, pizza, live music, and comedy. This was DiBella’s first year hosting this Halloween-themed party and it already ranks as one of the most fun winery events I’ve ever attended.
Firepits and burners were provided to ward off the chill as the sun went down and the themed tasting tents and candy pairings were nice touches. Though DiBella is a small, family-operated winery, their wines were big on taste. It was no surprise that my friend Colleen who is fan of all things dry fell hard for the Dragon wine. However, what is shocking is that yours truly actually liked it too. While the Dragon is a port-style wine, it is lighter than most with a hint of sweetness. I also enjoyed the citrus notes of the DiBella White but for me, the overall winner of the night was the Traminette. Featuring hints of citrus, this semi-sweet delight paired perfectly with my scrumptious personal pizza from Papa Luigis.
Then it was time for the show. Justin The Performer was indeed that and more – a talented musician willing to go that extra mile for even the most offbeat of requests. The sun had gone down by the time the comedians of the Kricket Comedy Show took the stage, killing any chance at visual gags. But they still provided plenty of laughs and a good time was had by all. Can’t wait to see what DiBella does next year!
